Drip Irrigation Planner for Beds and Gardens

Enter bed size, plant type and spacing to see tubing, emitters and run time for a drip system.

These tools give planning-level estimates from typical values and the details you enter. They are not quotes, designs or engineering, and results depend on your actual yard, soil, water pressure and flow, system condition, weather and local rules. Only a site visit can confirm what a project needs, and we give you a written scope and price before any work begins.

How it works

Four quick steps.

  1. 01

    Measure the bed

Length and width of the bed in feet.

  2. 02

    Choose the plants

Trees, shrubs, perennials or vegetables each need different emitters.

  3. 03

    Set the spacing

    Distance between plants or rows.

  4. 04

    Read the plan

Tubing, emitters, run time and the parts a zone needs.

Tips

  • Every drip zone needs a filter and a pressure regulator.
  • Large shrubs and trees need several emitters, small perennials only one or two.
  • Cover tubing with mulch, and flush the lines once a year.
Questions

About this tool.

How many emitters do I need?

It depends on the plants. The tool counts emitters from plant type and spacing, and a visit confirms them.

How long should drip run?

Often longer than a spray zone but less often. The tool gives a starting run time.

Can drip water a vegetable garden?

Yes. Inline drip tubing along the row works well.

Is this a quote?

No. It is a planning list, not an order.
