Rain, freeze and soil sensors that stop watering when it is not needed, installed and tested so your system stops running in storms and frost.
Watering in the rain is one of the most visible forms of waste. A system running while water streams down the street tells the whole neighborhood that no one is paying attention. Sprinklers also should not run in near-freezing weather, because water on pavement can form ice and cold temperatures can damage plants. Sensors solve both problems by telling the controller when to hold off.
We install rain sensors in a spot that sees real rainfall, not under eaves and not shaded from sky, and we wire them into the controller so they interrupt watering. Freeze sensors stop cycles when temperatures approach freezing. Where soil sensors make sense, we place them in representative spots and set thresholds for your soil and plants. Some local rules and utility programs encourage or require rain sensors on new systems, and we test each sensor to make sure the system really stops when it should.
The sensor sits in open sky with no eave or tree between it and the rain.
We connect it to the controller and test it so watering stops when the sensor says so.
Cold sensors stop cycles near freezing to protect pavement from ice and plants from damage.
Moisture sensors in representative spots let the controller skip cycles when soil is wet enough.

You tell us about your yard and what you want, a new system, a repair or a tune-up, and we set a visit that fits your day.
We walk the property, find the water source and valves, test pressure and flow, look at every head and zone and take photos of anything of note.
We explain your options for zones, heads, drip, controllers and savings, sketch the layout and give you a written scope with clear timing and pricing.
We arrange for underground utilities to be located, protect the lawn, driveways and beds and mark every head, valve and pipe run before we dig.
We install or repair pipe, valves, heads and wiring with the right parts for each zone, flush the lines and keep the site tidy as we work.
We program the controller, test every zone with you, walk through watering and winterizing in plain steps and set a reminder for your next check.
Some local rules and utility programs encourage or require one on new systems, and they save water in any case. We explain what applies to you.
Where it gets open sky and is not shaded by eaves or trees, and where you can reach it for testing.
Yes, with a freeze sensor or a controller that uses weather data.
Most controllers have a sensor input. We confirm yours and install the right type.
Many have a test button or a way to simulate rain. We show you how during the visit.
