Repair and Troubleshooting

Irrigation System Rehabilitation

A full renewal of an aging system: failing parts replaced, layout corrected and controls upgraded to extend its life and cut water use.

Irrigation systems age. After ten or fifteen years, the plastic in heads has hardened, valves wear, wire connections corrode and the original layout may no longer suit the landscape. Repairs become frequent, coverage gets patchy and the lawn needs more water than it should. Replacing everything is rarely necessary, and ignoring the problem is expensive, so the middle path is a careful rehabilitation.

We start with a thorough inspection and test of every zone, valve, wire and head. Then we propose a plan: replace worn heads and nozzles, rebuild or replace valves, repair or rerun wiring, fix pipe and fittings that are failing, correct poor head spacing and upgrade the controller and sensors. The pipe in the ground, which is the most expensive part, is kept if it is sound. The result is a system that works like new at a fraction of the cost of starting over.

Inspect everything first

We test every zone, valve, wire and head so the plan is based on facts.

Replace what is worn

Heads, nozzles, valves and connections are renewed, while sound pipe is kept.

Fix the layout

Poor spacing, mismatched heads and gaps are corrected, so coverage becomes even.

Upgrade the controls

A modern controller and sensors cut waste and give you better control.

How it works

Our process, start to finish.

  1. 01

    Call and schedule

You tell us about your yard and what you want, a new system, a repair or a tune-up, and we set a visit that fits your day.

  2. 02

    Visit and inspect

We walk the property, find the water source and valves, test pressure and flow, look at every head and zone and take photos of anything of note.

  3. 03

    Design and explain

We explain your options for zones, heads, drip, controllers and savings, sketch the layout and give you a written scope with clear timing and pricing.

  4. 04

    Prepare the site

We arrange for underground utilities to be located, protect the lawn, driveways and beds and mark every head, valve and pipe run before we dig.

  5. 05

    Install or repair

We install or repair pipe, valves, heads and wiring with the right parts for each zone, flush the lines and keep the site tidy as we work.

  6. 06

    Start up and care

We program the controller, test every zone with you, walk through watering and winterizing in plain steps and set a reminder for your next check.

Questions

System Rehabilitation FAQ

When should I rehabilitate instead of replace?

If the pipe is sound and the layout is reasonable, rehabilitation usually costs far less. We tell you honestly after the inspection.

How old is too old for an irrigation system?

There is no fixed age. Systems of fifteen to twenty years often need a lot of work, but many can be renewed.

Will I save water?

Usually. Better coverage, modern nozzles and a smarter controller can cut waste noticeably.

Can I do the work in stages?

Yes. We can prioritize the most urgent items and phase the rest over time.

Will you replace the pipe?

Only where it is failing. Sound pipe in the ground is the most valuable part, and we keep it if we can.
