Mature lawns, old systems and tree roots call for careful work. Here is how to add or renew irrigation without wrecking the yard.
Older neighborhoods have mature trees, established lawns and often an old irrigation system, or none at all. Adding or renewing irrigation here is a different job from a new build. Tree roots, old utilities, narrow side yards and perfect front lawns mean the work must be careful. Systems from the past may use galvanized pipe, hardened heads and controllers that cannot adjust to weather.
We start by learning what is in the ground and what the owner wants. Low-impact methods keep damage to a thin line, and sod is lifted and replaced. If a system exists, we test it and decide whether repair, rehabilitation or replacement makes sense, keeping sound pipe where we can. Upgrades like smart controllers, rain sensors and efficient nozzles often bring older systems up to modern standards for a modest cost.
